The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission has proposed quota hunt management for grouse, woodcock and quail on Clay Wildlife Management Area to help biologists gather data on bird habitat improvements over the 5,800 acre area.
The Clay Wildlife Management Area stretches over Nicholas and Fleming counties.
According to The Outdoor Wire, quail, woodcock and grouse quotas would be similar to existing quail quota hunts at Peabody Wildlife Management Area, and the new Clay Wildlife Management Area regulations would go into effect for the 2010 hunting seasons if passed by state legislators.
The next Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting will be 8 a.m. on March 5 at the Arnold Mitchell Building, located at 1 Sportsman's Lane in Frankfort.
Comments and suggestions to be heard by the commission must be received 30 days prior to the meeting in writing.
Requests for placement on the meeting agenda should be sent to:??
